MONDAY’S CUP OF MOTIVATION:
The Winter Olympics have begun. Over the next several days, we will tune in to see athletes competing to bring home the Gold. They will challenge themselves and give it their all. They are already the best of the best from their respective countries. They will now be challenged by other amazing athletes from around the world. How many times do we hear that an Olympic athlete set a personal best at the Olympic Games? It happens all the time because being around other great athletes brings out the best in them. As kids, we all dreamed of being Olympic athletes. Most of us never made it but we knew what it took to make it. Natural ability plus hard work. This goes for business as well as sports. We need to dream big. We need to also set specific goals to reach these dreams. If someone has yet to us that we are crazy when we detail our goals and dreams, then we have not set the bar high enough. Dream big and dream often. Let’s be specific about what we want in our lives and let’s go for it. Every day we sit around is a day wasted. We can be grateful for what we already have, and at the same time, we can also work hard to be the best we can be. We can plateau if we have reached the pinnacle of success in our organizations. If we want to take our career to the next level, we need to surround ourselves with the best of the best and we will be amazed at the personal best we can set. This week, we have the Olympics to remind us that we are competing every day for something. Let’s give our personal best and bring home our own personal gold. Have a phenomenal week!!
ENCOURAGEMENT CORNER…
Why are Goals Important?
On the best sunny day, the most powerful magnifying glass will not light paper if you keep moving the glass. But if you focus and hold it, the paper will light up. That is the power of concentration.
A man was traveling and stopped at an intersection. He asked an elderly man, “Where does this road take me?” The elderly person asked, “Where do you want to go?” The man replied, “I don’t know.” The elderly person said, “Then take any road. What difference does it make?”
How true. When we don’t know where we are going, any road will take us there.
Suppose you have all the football eleven players, enthusiastically ready to play the game, all charged up, and then someone took the end zone away. What would happen to the game? There is nothing left. How do you keep score? How do you know you have arrived?
Enthusiasm without direction is like wildfire and leads to frustration. Goals give a sense of direction. Would you sit in a train or a plane without knowing where it was going? The obvious answer is no. Then why do people go through life without having any goals?

Time = Life, Therefore, waste your time and waste of your life, or master your time & master your life.

If you don’t set a baseline standard for what you’ll accept in life, you’ll find it’s easy to slip into behaviors and attitudes or a quality of life that’s far below what you deserve.

The most precious gift we can offer anyone is our attention. When mindfulness embraces those we love, they will bloom like flowers.
Thich Nhat Hanh
Life is all about timing… the unreachable becomes reachable, the unavailable become available, the unattainable… attainable. Have the patience, wait it out. It’s all about timing.
