MONDAY’S CUP OF MOTIVATION:
Last Friday was Valentine’s Day. Essentially, a relationship’s state of the union. Others celebrated Single’s Awareness Day. No matter which day we celebrated, the focus of the day was not primarily on work. When was the last time we celebrated the love of our job with a day specifically set aside for that occasion? There is no such day as Worker’s Day because in the scheme of things, there are far more important things in life than a job. Our jobs are how we make a living. This week, let’s remember to focus on the things that matter the most: our family, our friends, and our health. These are the things that help us make a life. It’s amazing what happens when we give…we get. On Valentine’s Day we show our love and appreciation. Our lives are always so much better when we are showing love, appreciation and compassion. If we want to have a friend, we need to be a friend. Look how it turned out for George Bailey in It’s a wonderful Life. Let’s try to work on spending time doing things that make us happy with the people who make us happy. It sounds easier than it is at times but it’s what truly matters. Time is going by faster as the years pass and before you know it, we will be looking back on our lives. Why not make the memories now while we have our friends, family and health. Work will always be there but these other three that truly matter won’t. Here’s to another phenomenal week!!
ENCOURAGEMENT CORNER…
Things to do today:
1. Make someone smile.
2. Make someone laugh.
3. Make someone cry. (out of too much laughter.)
4. Tell someone “I love you”
5. Find a flower, let it know how beautiful it is.
6. Look a friend in the eye and tell him/her “Thank you for being a part of my life.”
7. Think of something to write for #7
8. Be awesome.
EXTRA ENCOURAGEMENT…
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life.
-John Lennon
