MONDAY’S CUP OF MOTIVATION:
We have all heard the phrase “The Bucket List.” It was made famous a few years back in a movie. A list of the things we want to accomplish or do before we kick the bucket. This week, let’s start looking at our personal bucket list. Do we even have one? Life is short and we find ourselves putting off the things we want to do until a later date. The biggest regret people have when they are older is not the things they did. It’s the things they did not do. We need to be doing the things we want to do while there is still time and while we are still healthy enough to enjoy them. This week, let’s ask ourselves a simple question. What are the top 100 things we have always wanted to do? When we get the list done, let’s choose our top 10. Why not do one a year for the next ten years? Maybe they can be done sooner than that but we need to be enjoying life and living our dreams. Waiting and hoping will not get us there. The only thing holding us back from living the life of our dreams is us. Remember that thoughts become things. Dreams can come true but it is up to us to make them come true. Let’s not look at the 10 things on our list as dreams any longer. Let’s look at this list as our To Do list. When we have knocked one off the list, replace it with another. Start creating memories. We can make the next 10 years our best 10 years. Let’s put some check marks next to that To Do list. Life is a journey. Let’s make it an amazing one. Have a phenomenal week!
ENCOURAGEMENT CORNER…
How Much Do You Make An Hour?
With a timid voice and idolizing eyes, the little boy greeted his father as he returned from work, “Daddy, how much do you make an hour?” Greatly surprised, but giving his boy a glaring look, the father said: “Look, son, not even your mother knows that. Don’t bother me now, I’m tired.” “But Daddy, just tell me please!? How much do you make an hour,” the boy insisted.
The father finally giving up replied: ” Twenty dollars per hour.” “Okay, Daddy? Could you loan me ten dollars?” the boy asked. Showing restlessness and positively disturbed, the father yelled: “So that was the reason you asked how much I earn, right?? Go to sleep and don’t bother me anymore!”
It was already dark and the father was meditating on what he had said and was feeling guilty. Maybe he thought, his son wanted to buy something. Finally, trying to ease his mind, the father went to his son’s room.
“Are you asleep son?” asked the father. “No, Daddy. Why?” replied the boy partially asleep. “Here’s the money you asked for earlier,” the father said. “Thanks, Daddy!” rejoiced the son, while putting his hand under his pillow and removing some money. “Now I have enough! Now I have twenty dollars!” the boy said to his father, who was gazing at his son, confused at what his son just said. “Daddy could you sell me one hour of your time?”
